Tanya Lindell Saucier was denied bond and will remain behind bars as she awaits trial for the murder of her estranged husband, James Ray Saucier, after Judge Steve Simpson rejected her request Tuesday to be released on bond.

In December 2024, Saucier was taken into custody for allegedly killing her husband outside the Pearl River County Courthouse in Poplarville. The two had been in court to finalize a divorce when Saucier is said to have shot James when he was exiting the building.

The shooting by Saucier happened just months before her estranged husband was set to stand trial for shooting her in 2023. James Ray Saucier had previously been charged with aggravated assault and domestic violence with a deadly weapon.

Saucier is being held at the Lamar County Jail and a trial date has not been set.
