Suspect in armed robbery of Dollar General store is arrested at another store

A suspect has been captured in the armed robbery of the Dollar General store located on Highway 43 N near Wheat’s Curve that occurred on Tuesday morning.

A caller to Pearl River County Central Dispatch at approximately 9:00pm on Wednesday stated a suspicious person was hanging out at the Dollar General located near Highway 43 N. at 20 McNeill-Henleyfield Road.

Upon arrival, Pearl River County deputies located a white male, later identified as Arick Poupart, age 25, of 78 North Street, Carriere, behind the garbage dumpsters on the right side of the business.

Poupart was found to be in possession of marijuana, and was taken to the Lenoir-Rowell Criminal Justice Center in Millard.


Through further investigation, and using video surveillance from the store that was robbed on Tuesday, it was determined that Arick matched the description of the suspect in the video.

Poupart was later charged with Armed Robbery, False identification to a law enforcement officer, and Controlled Substance Violation.
