Suspect arrested for murder in Sunday's shooting on Fern Drive

Picayune Police Department Chief Freddy Drennan announced on Monday afternoon that an arrest has been made in the shooting death that occurred on Sunday in the area of 1201 Fern Drive in Picayune.

Chief Drennan said the victim is Craig Thomas McDonald, age 41, of 1219 Fern Drive in Picayune. The suspect arrested and charged with murder in the death of McDonald is Ronald M. Mark, Jr., age 41, of 1307 Sally Drive, in Picayune.

Chief Drennan stated that there may be the possibility of additional arrests coming in relation to this case.

Drennan stated this shooting, based on information gathered thus far, appears to be related to gang activity and was the result of previous altercations between those involved in this event.

Based on this information, Chief Drennan stated that he contacted the FBI Task Force in Biloxi and they agreed to come and assist with case beginning tomorrow (Tuesday April 13th).
