Supervisors approve Sheriff's request for new vehicles

Pearl River County Sheriff David Allison went before the Board of Supervisors on Monday seeking approval for the purchase of new vehicles for his department.

Sheriff Allison laid out the need for four 2020 Dodge Durango’s to outfit his department for the patrol and K-9 units. The vehicles came in at a cost of $37,066 per unit after being outfitted with the patrol and K-9 packages. The total cost to the county will be $148,264.00


A new K-9 officer, Soyer, was acquired recently to assist the officers in the apprehension of suspects.


The Board gave its unanimous approval for the purchase of the vehicles.
