Results from City of Picayune municipal elections on April 1, 2025

Please note these totals were released last night by the city of Picayune.

Totals are not final until any affidavit ballots are verified and counted, and any and all absentee ballots postmarked yesterday are included in the final tally.


City Council races:

Ward/District 1 Republican primary Anna Turnage ran unopposed and will serve another term.

Ward/District 2 Democratic Dimitri Johnson ran unopposed.

Ward/District 2 Republican primary Terrilyn Griffith beat Michael Marks 76 to 19. Griffith along with Johnson, and Independent Candidate Lynn Bogan Bumpers will square off in the June General Election.

Ward/District 3 Republican primary Janice Miller Stevens ran unopposed and will serve another term.

Ward/District 4 Democratic primary Larry Breland beat David Brumfield 162 to 93 and Breland will serve another term.

Ward/District 5 Republican primary Josiah Hickman leads Frank Ford 235 to 224. This race will not official until all affidavit and mail-in absentee ballots are verified.

Mayor’s race: Incumbent Jim Luke tallied 713 votes to challenger Jerry Bounds 639.
