Remains confirmed to be those of Willie Jones

Pearl River County Coroner Derek Turnage has determined the identity of the remains found on

July 17 in relation to the investigation of Willie Jones, who has been missing since July 6.


Through physical evidence obtained as part of an autopsy conducted on Thursday, which included fingerprints, Turnage has identified the remains as Willie Q. Jones, age 28, of Picayune.


Those remains have since been released to the family.


The cause and manner of death has been determined to be multiple gunshot wounds in relation to a homicide.


Four arrests have been made in the case. Dustin Gray and his brother Austin Brookshire have been charged with murder. Gray’s wife Erica Gray and another brother of Gray’s (a juvenile) have been charged as an accessory after the fact of murder.
