Regions Bank robbed Tuesday morning

Picayune Police are investigating the second bank robbery in the city in the past month after the Regions Bank located at 407 Highway 11 South in Picayune was robbed on Tuesday morning.

According to Picayune Assistant Chief James Bolton, at approximately 11:20 a.m., the suspect, described as a black female, had entered the bank, and handed a note to a teller demanding money. The teller gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money from her drawer.

Bolton said witnesses stated the suspect left the bank and walked to the left (south direction), but there was no identification of a motor vehicle that the suspect entered at that time.

Bolton said police officers and investigators are working the incident at this time. Bolton said the FBI has been notified as well.
