PRC boys advance with 49-41 win over West Jones

Carriere--Pearl River Central rallied to beat West Jones 49-41 and advanced to a Saturday game at Forest Hill.

PRC tied the game at 28-28 on a buzzer beater three pointer by Kelton Seal to end the third quarter.
Down 40-31 early in the fourth quarter, the Blue Devils chipped away with a 11-0 run and took the lead 42-40 on a layup by Tyaon Terrell.
After a West Jones free throw to make it 42-41, Caden Thompson nailed a three pointer from deep in the left corner in the last minute and Elway Fitzgerald made 3 of 4 free throws down the stretch to seal the win.
Terrell led PRC (19-11) with 11 points, Seal had 9 points, Fitzgerald 7 points. Connor Tynes had 6 points and Brady Johnson scored 4 points. Tynes and Tynes scored all of their points in the second half.
Tajrick Randolph scored 22 points for West Jones.
Laurel 66 Picayune 60
Laurel--Picayune scored first 9 points of 2nd half to take 34-26 lead, but Laurel went on a 19-3 run directly after that to take control of the game.
Trailing 61-50 late, the Maroon Tide cut it to 63-60 before Laurel sealed the game with late points.
Seth Stockstill led Picayune (13-16) with 18 points. Sergio Williams and Derai Jones had 11 points each.
Laurel out-rebounded Picayune on the offensive boards by a margin of 20 which proved to be the difference in the game. Antwan Harrell had 29 points to lead Laurel.
Picayune will have everyone back next year while graduating just two seniors, Jaylen Byrd and Williams.
