Picayune School District Parent's of the Year recognized at board meeting
During Thursday's meeting of the Picayune School Board of Trustees, the district recognized the the parent of the year awards for the schools. This award is presented to individuals who go above and beyond in support of their schools and district.
Superintendent Shaw stated that the recipients give selflessly of themselves, not only with their time, but also with their own money, to ensure all students receive the best education and experience while at the district’s schools.
The winners this year were:
Picayune Memorial High School – Timmy Craft
Picayune Jr High School – J.R. Pascal
Nicholson Elementary – Heather McCreary
Roseland Park – Melissa Pigott
South Side Lower and Upper – Elisha Pollitz
West Side Elementary – Melissa Heath
The overall District Parent of the Year award went to Melissa Heath.
West Side– Principal Kerri Wilder, Melissa Heath, Superintendent Dean Shaw
PMHS -- Principal Kristi Mitchell, Timmy Craft, Superintendent Dean Shaw
PJHS -- Principal Gen Breeland, and J.R. Pascal
South Side — Principal Tarva Cook and Elisha Pollitz
Nicholson –Principal Lisa Howie and Heather McCreary
