Picayune Police searching for suspect wanted for Attempted Murder


On Monday (Nov 23, 2020) afternoon at approximately 1:11 p.m., officers with the Picayune Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Rosa Street and Touquet Street.

According to Picayune Police Department Assistant Chief James Bolton, when officers arrived at the location, they learned that none of the bystanders had been hit by the gunshots. The officers observed that two unoccupied vehicles had received damage from the reported gunshots.

Using evidence collected at the scene and statements from witnesses present, the officers were able to positively identify a suspect. At this time (Tuesday afternoon), Asst Chief Bolton stated that no arrest has been made, but an active warrant is in place for the arrest of 22 year old Horatio Walton, Jr. for Attempted Murder.


Walton is listed on National Crime Information Center (NCIC) as wanted at this time and this case is still under investigation according to Bolton.
