Pearl River's Jakob Greer named Forrest General Wildcat of the Week

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — Jakob Greer (Bay St. Louis; St. Stanislaus) has been named the Forrest General Wildcat of the Week.


The redshirt sophomore had a career day as the Wildcats dispatched visiting East Central 28-21 at Dobie Holden Stadium last Thursday. The victory was the first one for new head coach Seth Smith.

Greer completed 11 of 16 passes for 140 yards with two touchdown passes. Both of Greer’s TDs traveled 41 yards; Latreal Jones (Taylorsville) caught one, while Tavion Smith (Hattiesburg; Oak Grove) caught the other.


On the season, Greer has completed 37 of 57 passes for 344 yards and four touchdowns. Greer is the third honoree this season, joining Jairus McFarland (Hattiesburg) and Noah Mitchell (Leakesville; Greene County).

NEXT UP The Wildcats have a bye this week before visiting Jones College on Oct. 29.

PRCC will play at Dobie Holden Stadium for the final time in 2020 on Nov. 5 when the Wildcats host Southwest for homecoming. Kickoff against the Bears is scheduled for 7 p.m.


PRCC will conclude its season Nov. 12 at Hinds.
