Nicholson man sentenced to serve 30 years

Poplarville, Mississippi-- District Attorney Hal Kittrell announces that on October 18, 2024, Randolph “Randy” Wesley Burge, 45, of Nicholson, Mississippi, pled guilty to two counts of Exploitation of a Child and was sentenced to consecutive terms of forty years with fifteen years to serve in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, meaning that he will serve thirty years day-for-day without the possibility of parole or early release.
He must register as a sex offender upon release. Burge was sentenced by Judge Prentiss Harrell.

The case arises from a report of a Snap Chat profile using the name “$ugar Baby $eeker – Picayune” that was soliciting minor children for sexual purposes. During the course of the investigation, Burge was identified as the user of the account with his intent being to engage in sexual conduct with minor children.
The case was investigated by the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department.
