Marc Rice apprehended during traffic stop

Marc Wayne Rice has apprehended.

Yesterday at approximately 6:00 pm, a traffic stop was conducted by the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department on Hwy 43 South near Stafford Rd. Picayune Police Officers were nearby and assisted. Marc Rice was an occupant in the vehicle and he jumped from the vehicle and fled the scene. After a short chase, he was apprehended.

Rice, age 26, who shows an address of 17028 Birch Road, Pearlington, MS, had several outstanding warrants with the Picayune Police Department including felony eluding, felony possession of a controlled substance and trafficking a controlled substance. Additional charges from this incident are expected as well.

Rice has been at large since May 5th when he eluded law enforcement after a lengthy car chase in the area of Caesar Road.
