Local law office damaged in Tuesday morning fire

The office of Picayune attorney James Gray was heavily damaged after it caught fire around 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning. The office is located at 503 West Canal Street in Picayune.

Gray’s son, Dustin, and Dustin’s wife Erica Gray, were named as persons of interest on Sunday in connection with the disappearance of Willie Q. Jones, age 28, of Picayune, who has been missing since July 6. Jones was last seen in the Ponderosa subdivision according to an earlier press release from the Picayune Police Department. Jones was a friend of the Gray family according James Gray.

Picayune Assistant Police Chief Dustin Moeller said the Picayune Police Department and other law enforcement agencies are diligently working around the clock to solve this case.


Moelller stated, “We are doing everything we can to find out exactly what happened to Willie Jones and are hopeful we can bring this case to some closure as soon as possible.”



According to information from Moeller in an earlier press release, Dustin and Erica Gray also have outstanding felony warrants for possession of a stolen firearm, in addition to being wanted for questioning in the disappearance of Jones.


Both the Picayune Fire Department and the Mississippi Fire Marshall’s office are investigating the fire at Gray’s office.
