Juvenile charged for attempted murder


Chief Joe Quave of Picayune Police Department stated in a press release that a physical altercation led to the arrest of two individuals.


Chief Quave said officers were dispatched to 1000 South Beech Street on Monday, August 22nd at approximately 10 p.m. in reference a call stating someone was possibly shot. Upon arrival, officers discovered that an unknown weapon was used to cause numerous punctures and wounds to the back of the victim.


The victim told officers the suspects fled the scene prior to the officers arriving.

The victim was transported to the hospital and remains there due to the wounds suffered according to Chief Quave.


The investigation of the incident resulted in the arrest of a 15 year old juvenile, Da’Morae Brown of Picayune. Chief Quave stated that Brown will be charged as an adult for attempted murder.


Chief Quave said that through further investigation, Omando A. Davis, age 23, of Picayune, was arrested for accessory after the fact in regards to the shooting.
