Investigation of missing man focuses on two persons of interest
The following statement to the press is provided by and approved for immediate release by Assistant Chief of Police Dustin Moeller:
***MISSING PERSON INVESTIGATION***
"The Picayune Police Department is asking for assistance in locating Willie Ray Q. Jones, who was reported missing on July 6, 2020. Jones was last seen in the Ponderosa area of Picayune, wearing a black shirt and gray and white shorts. Jones has black hair, brown eyes and stands 5'7" tall, weighing approximately 216 lbs."
"Since the time Jones was reported missing, the Picayune Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division has worked tirelessly around the clock, investigating every possible lead. We have canvassed multiple areas within the City of Picayune, Pearl River and Hancock Counties, and any other area known to be frequented by Jones. Multiple divisions within the Picayune Police Department have assisted and are continuing to assist the Criminal Investigations Division in this case, as well as Pearl River and Hancock County Sheriff's Offices, Hattiesburg Police Department, MS Bureau of Investigations, Homeland Security, L.A.S.A.R (Louisiana Search and Rescue), and countless volunteers."
"During the course of this ongoing investigation, multiple search warrants have been issued and executed. Multiple items of evidence have been obtained and sent to the appropriate agencies for testing and we are currently awaiting the results of those tests at this time. While the phone records and social media accounts of the victim and any and all persons of interest have been requested, we have and will continue to investigate this case fully and follow every possible lead. The family deserves answers and we are working to provide them."
"The Picayune Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in locating Dustin and Erica Gray. Dustin Gray is a white male, 5’9 and weighs about 150 lbs. Erica Gray is a white female, 5’2 and weighs about 118 lbs. Both have outstanding felony warrants with us for Possession Of A Stolen Firearm and are both persons of interest in the disappearance of missing person, Willie Ray Q. Jones.
