COVID-19 numbers as of Sunday, July 12th


The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reported 868 new cases on Saturday with 19 deaths.. 8 of those confirmed COVID-19 related deaths occurred between June 12 and July 6, identified from death certificate reports. 106 outbreaks in Long Term Care facilities.

  • Since March 11 statewide 36,287 cases and 1,249 deaths.

  • Currently 703 hospitalized, 202 patients in ICU.107 patients on ventilators,

  • Pearl River County now has 303 cases since March 11 with 32 deaths; Hancock County is at 148 cases and 13 deaths.

St Tammany Parish has had 3,169 cases with 187 deaths and Louisiana statewide has recorded 78,122 with 3,308 deaths.

Amid spiraling coronavirus infections and steadily-increasing hospitalizations, Gov. John Bel Edwards on Saturday said he is issuing a statewide mask mandate and closing bars, making Louisiana the latest Southern state to ratchet restrictions back up after months of reopening.

Starting Monday, people will be required to wear masks when entering establishments or outdoors if they cannot be at least six feet away from others, and bars will have to revert back to “to-go” service.
