City receives donation for Kids Kingdom

The City of Picayune has moved one step closer to seeing the vision of a new Kids Kingdom at Friendship Park reach fruition. Picayune Police Chief Freddy Drennan came before the Council to speak about a donation slated to aid in the replacement of the playground equipment at the park.

Gus Bordelon with Coastal Environmental Services presented the City with a check in the amount of $10,089.00. Chief Drennan stated the he has some verbal agreements from several businesses willing to participate in getting playground equipment, but Coastal is the first to make a formal presentation.

Mr. Bordelon said that in his 12 years in being a garbage contractor, it was always his goal to be the best corporate citizen and he takes pride in knowing when kids are out playing on it, that Coastal had something to do with it.

Chief Drennan along with Pearl River County Sherriff David Allison are hoping to have many more donations to share with the Council at future meetings.
