City announces sandbag services for storm preparations

The City of Picayune will be issuing sand bags to City residents on Sunday August 23rd between

the hours of 8 am and 3 pm at 309 Stephens St. Picayune. There will be a 10 bag limit per house hold.

Personnel will be available to assist loading.

Satellite bagging facilities (fill your own bags and bring your own shovel) will be set up at the following locations:

• Leola Jordan Park 903 E. Canal First

• Pentecostal Church 123 Kendrick Lane J P Johnson Park 403 Rosa St.

• Mildred Mitchell Park 1901 Danial Road Vacant lot on Pinewood Drive

The Picayune Fire Department and Public Works personnel will deliver sand bags to elderly and handicap shut-ins only. Call 601-799-0602 or “311” between the hours of 7:00 am till 3:30 pm Monday thru Friday.
