Blue Devils place four players on Class 5A All State team

The Pearl River Central Blue Devils baseball team had four players recently selected to the Class 5A All State baseball team.

On the first team, 3B Ethan Songy, a senior, hit for a .396 avg and had 25 RBIs and was successful on 11 of 13 stolen base attempts.


Junior IF / P Nolan Walther, junior RHP Justin Robinson, and sophomore Caleb Dyess, OF/RHP were selected to the second team.

Walther had a .327 batting avg and 34 RBIs; as a pitcher he was 4-0 with a 3.00 ERA and struck out 31 batters in 28 innings.


Robinson posted a 8-1 record with a 1.56 ERA. He struck out 116 batters in 63 innings.

Dyess had a stellar year offensively hitting .436 with 36 RBIs, 7 doubles, 4 triples, and 2 HRs. Dyess stole 18 bases in 21 attempts. As a pitcher, he posted a 4-1 record with a 2.07 ERA and recorded 30 strikeouts in 23.2 innings.
