Blue Angels recognized for State Championship
The Pearl River County School Board swore in their newest member, Mr. Mark Herring at Thursday’s board meeting. It was straight to business after that, with the board congratulating some exceptional student athletes.

Mark Herring is the newest member of the Pearl River County Schools Board of Trustees
The Blue Angels Competition Dance team were really on a roll this year as they brought home the honor of being State Champions for the second year in a row. Pearl River County School District Coach Sadie Penton led her ladies in competition against other High School teams in the Coliseum in Jackson on December 12th. The Mississippi High School Activities Association’s State Dance Championship is held each December and hosts 40 dance teams from different divisions.

PRC’s division is small varsity which consists of 5-12 dancers. This division pitted them against 19 teams. The Blue Angels hard work paid off with them taking 1st place in Jazz and 1st Place in Pom. Not only is this their second year in a row as State Champions, this is their 10th State Title since 2013.
The Junior Blue Angels of PRC middle School also placed 1st in both Jazz and Pom competition.
