Picayune rolls past Pascagoula 63-14

Picayune—The Picayune Maroon Tide jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first six minutes and went on the defeat Pascagoula 63-14 at Lee-Triplett Stadium on Friday night.
Fullback Kade Turnage scored on the first play from scrimmage on a 63 yard run and Austin Samples added the first of his nine extra points for a 7-0 lead.
The Maroon Tide forced the Panthers to punt and on Picayune’s second play of the possession, Cameron Thomas raced through the Pascagoula secondary for a 60 yard touchdown for a 14-0 lead.

Dorian Robinson got the ball back for the Maroon Tide with a fumble recovery at the Panther 35 and Thomas scored again, this time from 1 yard away for a 21-0 lead.
Pascagoula got on the board with 8:14 left in the second quarter on a 20 yard touchdown pass Keilon Parnell to Jaylan Thompson to make it 21-7.
Picayune scored its last points of the half when Elijah Jenkins blocked a punt and Carson Connor recovered it for a touchdown to make it 28-7.

Pascagoula scored with 8:11 left in the third quarter on a two yard run by Parnell.
Picayune responded on their next possession with a 9 play 67 yard drive with Jalen Hall scoring on a 5 yard run with 4:00 left in the third quarter for a 35-14 lead.

After forcing a Panther punt on their next possession, Hall had a 28 yard run on first down and on the next play Cameron Thomas scored his third touchdown of the night (32nd rushing on the season) on a 12 yard run with 1:14 left in the third quarter.
After another Panther punt, Turnage busted loose for a 49 yard touchdown run to make it 49-14.

Robinson intercepted a pass on Pascagoula’s next possession giving the ball to the Maroon Tide offense at the Panther 5 yard line. Isaac Hickman threw a touchdown pass to Jashawn Lee on the first play for a 56-14 lead with 10:24 left in the game.

Robinson got another interception and Picayune added the final score on a Samples 9 yard touchdown run with 3:09 left.
Thomas finished with 12 carries for 141 yards and Turnage had 135 yards on 5 rushes. Jalen Hall rushed for 67 yards on 4 carries and had 2 interceptions while playing defense.
Picayune (10-0, 6-0) will travel to Wayne County on Friday with the top seed for the upcoming playoffs on the line.
