Two arrested for assaulting police officers
Picayune Police Department responded to a call from a resident at 1008 Shirley Drive on October 11, 2019, at approximately 11:00 p.m. in reference to a sick or injured person.
Assistant Chief Dusty Moeller stated that upon arrival, the officer made contact with Kathleen Christine Seal, age 61, who said that her son was in the bedroom of the home and that he was sick. The officer went to the bedroom where he made contact with her son, later identified as Lonny Eugene Williams, age 45.

Moeller said that Williams began to yell at the officer and struck the officer in the face while Seal ran to the front of the house and locked the door so that other responding officers could not enter the house.
While a struggle was in progress in the bedroom with the officer, responding secondary officers made several attempts to enter the house and finally had to make entry into the home once the Picayune Fire Department arrived on the scene.
AAA Ambulance service arrived on the scene and evaluated Williams who was still very irate. At this time Seal also became combative with the secondary officers as they entered the residence and she tried to push them out of the house.
Williams was released to AAA and transported to Highland Community Hospital where he was treated and released to the Picayune Police Department according to Moeller.
Willliams was arrested for Simple Assault on a Police Officer. Seal was arrested for Simple Assault on a Police Officer and Resisting Arrest by Fighting. Both were booked and incarcerated at the Criminal Justice Center according to Moeller.
