Traffic stop by PRCSO leads to arrest
In a press release, Pearl River County Sheriff David Allison stated that a deputy with the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office (PRCSO) Department Patrol Division conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation on August 13, 2019.
Upon making contact with the driver, George W. Gwinn, age 55, of #121 Hendrix Lane, Lumberton, MS, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, the deputy observed indicators that made him believe there may be narcotics in the vehicle.
During a search of the vehicle, the deputy found methamphetamine within the vehicle. Gwinn was transported to the Pearl River County jail where he was booked for Possession of Methamphetamine.
Sheriff Allison praised the efforts of the deputy in this case and all patrol deputies for their efforts in performing their normal responsibilities as well being involved with activities that are making an impact on getting drugs off the streets and roads of Pearl River County.
"Our Patrol Division does so many great things that at times go unnoticed in the public and in most of our press releases, but they are the ones who constantly keep us safe in Pearl River County. I can't say enough about their efforts, " Sheriff Allison said.
