PRCC is offering Welding on Wheels course


Poplarville--Pearl River Community College is offering a Welding on Wheels program that is an excellent opportunity for 18-24 year-olds who are not currently enrolled in school and looking to find employment in welding trades.

These welding courses, offered through a mobile welding lab, will be held at PRCC’s Poplarville campus. Classes begin July 8 and running through Oct. 24, Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

Students will have the opportunity to apply for certification in 10-hour general industry OSHA, forklift training, National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) core and some NCCER welding Level 1 modules.

Interviews and basic reading and math assessments will begin the week of June 17. The courses are free of charge to those who quality.
