Picayune and Pearl River Central well represented on All Region team

Picayune Head Coach Cody Stogner was selected as the Region 7-5A Coach of the Year. Stogner’s team went 1-8 in Region games in 2018 before winning the Region Championship this year with an impressive 6-3 mark.

Stogner's Maroon Tide had a bye in Round 1 of the playoffs and swept Stone in the second round to advance to this weeks third round.

Pearl River Central’s Hayden Dunhurst, an Ole Miss signee and projected to be a high draft choice in the Major League draft, was chosen as the Region 7-5A Player of the Year.

During the regular season, Dunhurst hit .526 with 34 RBIs and 29 hits which included 19 for extra base hits ((7 doubles, 3 triples, 9 home runs). He also stole 6 bases. He has added two home runs and three RBIs in the playoffs so far.
