Pearl River announces 2019 football schedule


POPLARVILLE, Miss. — The dates have been set for Pearl River's 2019 football season.

The Wildcats will need to be road warriors next season with five of the team's nine games taking place away from Dobie Holden Stadium.

Pearl River opens the season Aug. 29 with a road trip across the state to Itawamba for a 6:30 p.m. kickoff.

PRCC will head to Scooba after that to face East Mississippi on Sept. 5 for a 5 p.m. tilt.

After back to back road games to open the season, PRCC will begin MACJC South Division play on Sept. 12 with Copiah-Lincoln visiting Dobie Holden Stadium. The home opener is set for a 6 p.m. kickoff.

The Wildcats alternate home and road games the rest of the season.

A trip to Decatur is next up on the schedule, with Pearl River visiting East Central on Sept. 19 for a 6:30 p.m. contest. The Wildcats return home to face Hinds on Sept. 26 at 6 p.m.

The 89th edition of the Cat Fight will take place in Ellisville this year as the Wildcats visit the Jones College Bobcats for a 2 p.m. kickoff on Oct. 5. The rivalry contest marks the first of back-to-back Saturday games for PRCC.

Southwest will be Pearl River's Homecoming opponent this season, with the Wildcats welcoming SMCC on Oct. 12. Kickoff is at 2 p.m.

Pearl River heads back on the road Oct. 17 for a 7 p.m. game in Perkinston against rival Gulf Coast. The clash will mark the final MACJC South Division game on the schedule.

Pearl River closes out the regular season Oct. 24 against Mississippi Delta at 6 p.m. in Dobie Holden Stadium.
