Local man injured by gunshot from another vehicle
In a press release, Assistant Chief Dustin Moeller stated that on March 24, 2019, at around noon, officers were dispatched to the area of Morris Street in reference to gunshots being heard in the area. Upon arrival, officers began canvassing the area for possible leads according to Moeller. While on the scene, officers received another call that a victim suffering from a gunshot wound had just arrived at Highland Community Hospital Emergency Room for treatment.
Officers went to the hospital and spoke with the victim of the shooting, identified as 18 year old male Jahkee Ramell Hair. The investigation revealed that Hair was a passenger in a vehicle traveling west on Morris Street when it was fired upon. Hair was struck in the hand, causing minor injuries.
Moeller stated that the case remains under investigation.
