Community complaints of alleged illegal narcotic activity lead to two arrests

Acting on several community complaints of alleged illegal narcotic activity at 1701 Highway 11 North, Apartment # 1, Picayune, MS, the Picayune Police Department Narcotic’s Division, assisted by the Picayune Police Department Patrol Division and the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division executed a search warrant, at approximately 6:35 p.m. on January 16, 2019 at the address according to Captain Dusty Moeller.

Upon making entry into the apartment, Narcotic’s Detectives detained two suspects identified as Colby Pauline Brown, age 33, and Jeffery Daniel Bridges, age 29, both of the same, said address. At the time of the entry into residence, Moeller's press release states that Bridges attempted to become combative and began to use obscene language toward the officers once outside in the parking lot. Bridges was arrested for Disorderly Conduct Failure to Comply and Public Profanity.

Narcotic Detectives conducted a search of the residence and located several clear plastic bags containing a crystal residue believed to be Crystal Methamphetamine, a black digital scale containing a crystal substance believed to be Crystal Methamphetamine, and a black BB handgun on the bed.

Detectives also located a large grocery bag containing a large amount of clear plastic bags containing a crystal residue believed to be Crystal Methamphetamine, a WD 40 safe canister, another digital scale containing a crystal residue believed to be Crystal Methamphetamine, and a glass pipe commonly used to inhale narcotics. Inside the WD 40 canister, Narcotic Detectives located a plastic container containing a crystal substance believed to be Crystal Methamphetamine.

According to Moeller, both Brown and Bridges were placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled with Intent to Distribute Within 1500 feet of a Church. Brown and Bridges were transported to the Criminal Justice Center where they were booked and incarcerated on the said charges.
