Two arrested at local apartment
Picayune Police made two arrests last week after responding to a call in reference to a male subject displaying a firearm and allegedly in possession of illegal narcotics at an apartment complex at the 1700 block of Highway 11 North on January 6, 2019, at approximately 5:56 p.m.
According to Assistant Chief Jeremy Magri, when the officer arrived, he observed the male subject, later identified as Senque Santanze Wright, age 38, 910 Cayten Street, Picayune, sitting in front of Apartment # 1. The officer spoke to numerous tenants of the apartment complex and they identified Wright as the person who had the firearm.
After talking with the tenants, the officer approached Wright and a female, later identified as April Nicole Pierce-Drennan, age 24, of 910 Cayten Street, Picayune. Pierce-Drennan was moving items around on a table where she was sitting outside of Apartment # 1.

According to Magri, the officer asked Wright to stand up and the officer conducted a safety pat down on Wright. While conducting the pat down, the officer was stuck by a ‘dirk” knife that was concealed in Wright’s left front pocket. The officer confiscated the dirk knife which is considered a weapon. Also during the pat down, the officer located a clear plastic bag containing a crystal-like substance believed to be Crystal Methamphetamine. Wright was taken into custody.
A second officer arrived on the scene and assisted in searching the area around the table. During the search, the officers located a hypodermic needle where Pierce-Drennan had been seated earlier, the kind which is commonly used to inject illegal narcotics.
Wright was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance while Pierce-Drennan were arrested and charged with Possession of Paraphernalia and the suspects were transported to the Criminal Justice Center.
It was learned that Wright was wanted by the Mississippi Department of Corrections for parole violations and it was also discovered through a criminal history investigation , that Wright was a convicted felon. Wright was then additionally charged with Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon according to Magri.
