Pearl River kicker named MACJC Special Teams Player of the Week

POPLARVILLE — Pearl River's Will Lang (Inverness; Indianola Academy) has been named the MACJC's Special Teams Player of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.
The award comes on the heels of PRCC's 37-9 victory at Southwest, where the Wildcats put in a complete team effort.
As has been the case for much of the year, Lang did a little bit of everything for the Wildcats on special teams.
Lang accounted for seven points, converting 4 of 5 PATs while also nailing a 38-yard field goal. He also kicked off for the Wildcats and punted nine times for 290 yards with a long of 48 and three landing inside the 20-yard line.
The sophomore has accounted for 19 points on the season, converting 4 of 6 field goal attempts and 7 of 10 PATs. He's also averaging 33.3 yards per punt.

PRCC returns to action Saturday when the Wildcats host archrival Gulf Coast for Homecoming. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
At 1 p.m., PRCC will honor its MACJC Champion baseball team with a ring ceremony at Dub "Paw Paw" Herring Park. The busy day's festivities will also include the induction of the Class of 2018into the PRCC Sports Hall of Fame.
