Three arrested during residence inspection
Pearl River County Sheriff David Allison stated in a press release that on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, Investigators with the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department’s Narcotics Unit and the Picayune Police Department’s Narcotics Division assisted the Mississippi Department of Corrections in conducting a residence inspection of 20 Davis Dawsey Road, Picayune, the residence of probationer Michael Shane Penton.
During the residence inspection, Investigators located Methamphetamine, Heroin, Marijuana, Prescription Pharmaceuticals, digital scales, packaging materials, and drug paraphernalia throughout the residence. Investigators discovered the majority of the controlled substances in the toilet of the residence, where their investigation determined that Penton attempted to conceal or destroy the items to prevent law enforcement from discovering it.

According to Sheriff Allison, three arrests were made at the scene:
Michael Shane Penton, Melissa J. Bellanger, and William Shane Anderson.

Penton was charged with Possession of Heroin, Methamphetamine, Marijuana, and Pharmaceuticals with the intent to distribute (four separate charges), along with Tampering with Evidence, and a probation violation hold for the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

Bellanger, Penton’s girlfriend, was arrested for Possession of Heroin, Methamphetamine, Marijuana, and Pharmaceuticals with the intent to distribute (four separate charges), and her bond was revoked on two previous charges of sale of a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a church, school, or playground, and possession of a weapon by a felon.

Anderson was arrested for probation violation with the Mississippi Department of Corrections, and a contempt of court charge.
