Bowman receives 'no bond' at hearing
Charles Eugene Bowman, age 61, of the Barth community, who was booked into Pearl River County jail on Monday in Millard after being extradited from Utah, had an initial hearing on Wednesday (Sept 12) in front of Judge James Hal Breland. Breland gave Bowman “No Bond” due to Bowman being a flight risk and a danger to society.
Bowman is charged with the murder of his wife and tampering with physical evidence in Pearl River County in connection with the disappearance of his wife.
On June 27, 2018, when investigators went the residence for a welfare check on Kathleen Bowman, they came in contact with her husband, Charles Eugene Bowman and asked him about the whereabouts of his wife. Bowman told the investigators that Kathleen was on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and would be back later.
PRCSO investigators later received information that led them back to the Bowman residence with a search warrant they obtained in order to possibly locate Kathleen Bowman.
When authorities returned to the residence at 68 Owl Hoot Road, Perkinston, MS (Barth community in Pearl River County), they learned that Bowman had fled the area. Bowman eluded officials in Utah for two weeks before being captured on July 12, 2018.
