PRCC soccer is calling all Wildcats for alumni games
POPLARVILLE – Wildcat fans will get an exciting glimpse at the past, present and future of the Pearl River Community College soccer programs this summer. PRCC announced Friday it will host alumni games, which are set for Friday, Aug. 17. The women will play at 6 p.m., with the men's kickoff penciled in for 7:30 p.m.
"The game is really for the alumni and it should be a who's who from Pearl River's history," said men's coach Drew Gallant, who was an NJCAA All-American at PRCC and is honored in the PRCC Sports Hall of Fame. "It's an opportunity to get back here and see not only what we've done with our massive facility upgrades but also get a glimpse of the Wildcats who are continuing their legacy."
The programs have combined to win 11 MACJC titles dating back to their 1999 debuts.
"We owe our Lady Wildcat alumni a huge debt of gratitude. Their sacrifice and dedication set the standard for future Wildcat classes to come," said women's coach Jack Byrd, who was also a standout at PRCC. "We want all of our Wildcat family to come back and see what they have made possible."
The games come at a perfect time as PRCC is nearing the completion of a massive facility upgrade, which will allow the school to honor the Wildcats' winning tradition while also serving as a reminder of the school's dedication to excellence on the soccer pitch.
