PRCSO makes three arrests for illegal narcotics
The Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office (PRCSO) recently made numerous arrests for illegal narcotics according to press releases from Sheriff David Allison.
On June 13, a Patrol Deputy with the PRCSO initiated a traffic stop on a gold 2006 Mercedes Benz for failing to use a turn signal at the intersection of 5th Ave and Pine Street in Picayune. Upon making contact with the driver of the vehicle identified as Calvin Vaughn, age 42, of 108 Elmer Jackson Road, Carriere, the Deputy noticed the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle yielded a distribution amount of marijuana located inside the vehicle.
Sheriff Allison press release states that Vaughn was arrested, transported to the Pearl River County Jail, booked and incarcerated on a charge of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute.
On June 11, Sheriff David Allison said the PRCSO Narcotics Unit was on a routine patrol for narcotics activity when they initiated a traffic stop on a blue Ford Ranger pickup for careless driving on Gumpond Bell Road near Thomas School Road in Poplarville. When the Investigator came in contact with the driver, identified as David Curtis Sandifer, age 59, of 506 N. 6th Street, Lumberton, the investigator observed an alcoholic beverage on the floor of the vehicle.
During a search of the vehicle, the investigator found a glass methamphetamine pipe and a user amount of Methamphetamine on the person of a passenger in the vehicle, identified as Jimmy R. Strickland, age 62, of 203 S. 10th Street, Lumberton. During a search of Sandifer’s person, the investigator found a distribution amount of Methamphetamine.

Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Pearl River County Jail. Sandifer was booked and incarcerated for Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute and Careless Driving. Strickland was booked and incarcerated on Felony Possession of Methamphetamine.
