PRCC Wildcats make the grades to earn NJCAA honors

POPLARVILLE — Three Pearl River Community College teams recently earned NJCAA Academic Team of The Year honorable mentions for the 2017-18 athletic year.

In order to be selected, teams must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The PRCC softball team had the school's highest team GPA at 3.54, with the Lady Wildcats soccer team earning a 3.25 GPA and the Wildcats baseball team not far behind with a 3.19 GPA.

Individually, 24 student athletes from 4 different sports teams were honored. These teams included baseball, basketball, softball and woman's soccer. Students with a GPA of 4.0 are recognized as First Team All-Academic, while students with a GPA between 3.8 to 3.99 and 3.6 to 3.79 are recognized as Second Team and Third Team All-Academic, respectively.
