Two arrested for felony possession of illegal narcotics
On June 20, at 12:41pm, Picayune Police Department was dispatched to a local store in reference to a report of shoplifting according to Assistant Police Chief Jeremy Magri.
When the officer arrived at the scene, the store’s loss prevention officer pointed out the suspects, identified as Ivie Jo Kinley Gill, age 27, who listed her address as 117 Kavanaugh Blvd, Little Rock, Arkansas, standing next to a gold BMW in the parking lot. Another suspect, later identified as Dustin Morgan Thompson, age 36, of the same address, was standing next to Gill.

Magri said the officer approached the two suspects, and while speaking with them, learned through investigation that there was a hypodermic syringe in Gill’s wallet. The wallet was retrieved from the front passenger door panel and the officer located d not one, but two hypodermic syringes in the wallet.
At this time, a search of the vehicle was performed and the officer located a cellophane wrapper containing rolled-up tissue paper with four folded pieces of aluminum foil containing a brown powdery substance believed to be heroin. Through further investigation, Magri said the officer determined that the heroin was purchased in New Orleans, LA.
The loss prevention officer provided a list of items stolen items from the store valued at $111.27 including shelf set, 3 piece knife set, dessert bars, and other miscellaneous items.
Both suspects were taken into custody and transported to the Criminal Justice Center. Magri stated that Gill was booked and incarcerated for Shoplifting, Possession of Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Controlled Substance (felony), while Thompson was booked and incarcerated for Possession of Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Controlled Substance (felony).
