Father arrested for shooting his son during argument at their Kiln residence

The Hancock County Sheriff's Office is investigating an incident that occurred in the Kiln community on Tuesday afternoon in which a father allegedly shot his son multiple times.

Ronald Ladner, age 67, was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic violence after apparently shooting his son Cody Ladner at their residence. The incident is reported to have begun as an argument in their home and escalated resulting in shots being fired.

According to Sheriff Ricky Adam, Cody Ladner was shot multiple times with a handgun and he was not in possession of a weapon.

The shooting was reported just before 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at a residence off Amos Cuevas Road in Kiln. Cody Ladner was transported to the Standard-Dedeaux Ball Field, and flown via Life Flight helicopter to University Hospital in New Orleans.
