PRC's Carter Nicholson helps MGCCC win national title

The Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College men’s golf team captured its first team national title Thursday at the NJCAA Division II Men's Golf Championship, shooting 9-under in beating Meridian by one shot.

Freshman Carter Nicholson of Pearl River Central was even-par to finish tied for 17th at 5-over.

MGCCC Coach Tommy Snell said in a press release of the freshman from Carriere, "Carter, the last two days was 3-under par, and that's a freshman who hasn't had much experience in tournaments."
