Local man arrested for hit and run that occurred on Boley Creek bridge

Picayune Police Department reports state that they have arrested an individual for the hit and run accident that occurred last week on Highway 43 at Boley Creek bridge.

Through investigation of video surveillance from numerous businesses along Highway 43 in both directions from the Boley Creek bridge, investigators were able to identify a dark colored side by side UTV that was in the area during the time of the accident. Initially the victim, disoriented from the impact of the collision, had originally thought the vehicle that hit her was a dark colored Jeep.

Through further investigation of the area around the Boley Creek area where the accident occurred, investigators were riding near Inside Road on Tuesday when they observed a UTV that matched the description of the vehicle observed in the video surveillance. The UTV that was travelling toward Boley Creek when investigators conducted a traffic stop on the UTV and identified the driver as Bradley Morse, age 39, who listed his address as 1224 Stemwood Drive in Picayune. It is believed that is not his current address. Morse was taken into custody and transported to the Criminal Justice Center.

After an interview was conducted, Morse was charged and booked with Leaving the Scene of an Accident of an Accident with Serious Injury, which is a felony charge.
