Operation Spring Cleaning nets another narcotics arrest

The Picayune Police Department Narcotics Division continues to make narcotics arrests as part of the ongoing Operation Spring Cleaning initiative. Picayune Police Department Assistant Chief Jeremy Magri released the following information in a press release.

On May 2nd just after 2:00 p.m., the Picayune Police Narcotics Division along with the Picayune Police Patrol Division conducted a safety checkpoint at the intersection of North Beech Street and Westchester Drive. According to Magri’s release, detectives stopped a silver Hyundai Sonata which was not displaying a license plate.

Detectives spoke with the driver of the vehicle, Jefferey Lee Pilgram, age 34, of 1731 West 4th Avenue, Picayune, and received consent from Pilgram to conduct a search of the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle, detectives located one silver digital scale containing a brown powdery substance believed to be Heroin and one clear plastic bag in the front center console that also contained a brown powdery substance believed to be Heroin.

Also during the search, Magri’s release states that detectives found a black pouch underneath the front passenger side door. The pouch contained several clear plastic bags containing a brown powdery substance believed to be Heroin, several used syringes, and a metal spoon containing a burnt brown residue that was also believed to be Heroin.

Detectives also found several additional used syringes inside the trunk of the vehicle.

Pilgram was placed under arrests for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Paraphernalia, and No License Plate (Tag). He was transported to the Criminal Justice Center where he was booked and incarcerated.
