West Jones uses big inning to beat PRC 7-6
Soso- The Pearl River Central Blue Devils had one bad inning, and in the end, that proved to be the difference allowing West Jones to take Game 1 of the best of three series by a score of 7-6 at Mustang Field in Soso.
PRC took the lead in the top of the second inning when Eli Lee doubled and was brought home on a single up the middle by Caleb Tynes. Tynes scored on Robert Shoemake’s double to deep right center for a 2-0 lead.
West Jones got a run in the bottom of the inning on a sacrifice fly.
The Blue Devils scored another run in the top of third on a sacrifice fly by Hayden Dunhurst that plated Tristan Schlottman for a 3-1 lead.

The Mustangs pushed across six runs in the bottom of the fourth sending ten batters to the plate. West Jones had four hits and used two Blue Devils errors and a walk to take a 7-3 lead.
PRC got three runs back in the top of the fifth. Eli Lee doubled off the wall in right field to bring in two runs and Lee scored when Zach Roussell reached on a West Jones error cutting the lead to 7-6.
Game 2 will be played tonight in Carriere and will be broadcast on WRJW 1320 AM, wrjwradio.com, and the WRJW smart phone app with coverage starting at 6:45pm with the pre-game show. Joey Johnson and Scooter Black will be on the call of the game.
