On March 19th, the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office (PRCSO) Narcotics Unit conducted a traffic stop on a 2002 GMC Yukon for careless driving after observing the vehicle swerve over the center yellow divider line at 4th Street and Highway 11. The vehicle was stopped at Goodyear Blvd and North Main Street. Upon approaching the vehicle, the investigator met with the driver of the vehicle, identified as Carlos Bolar, age 41, of 152 Greenview, Picayune.

The investigator asked for consent to search the vehicle, but Bolar denied the request. While continuing the investigation and awaiting NCIC results on Bolar, a PRCSO deputy and K-9 partner arrived on the scene. The K-9 alerted on Bolar’s vehicle and pursuant to probable cause search law, the investigator located cocaine underneath the cup holders of the vehicle and a set of brass knuckles in the center console.
Bolar was taken into custody and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance (Cocaine) and Possession of a Weapon by a Felon.
