Picayune Archery finishes second in State

On Wednesday, April 4th, the Maroon Tide Archery team concluded their 2018 season by finishing as the State Runner-Up in the MHSAA Division III (5A and 6A combined) Archery State Championship.

The team posted a score of 3295, but came up a bit short in their bid to top Saltillo High School, who posted a season-high total of 3352. Following the Tide were Warren Central (3256), Center Hill (3244), and Northwest Rankin (3198).

Jonathan Gallo was the Team’s top overall shooter as he posted a score of 291, which earned him the boy’s medalist award for MHSAA Division III. He was followed by William Smith (287), Collen Penton (276), and Bradley Spence (266).

Madyson Canulette was the Team’s top female shooter as she posted a score of 281. She was followed closely by Jordan Barrack (279), Madyson Milliet (278), and Kathryn Spiers (274).

Other scores which contributed to the Team total were posted by Helena Hebert (270), Elizabeth Hensiek (268), Caleb Davis (264), and Megan Faber (261).
