Raid on residence results in five narcotic arrests

Picayune Police Narcotics Division, along with the Picayune Police Patrol and Criminal Investigations Division, executed a search warrant as part of an ongoing investigation of alleged narcotic distribution being conducted at a local residence according to a press release from Picayune Police Assistant Chief Jeremy Magri.

On March 20th at around 5:00pm, the search warrant was executed at 709 Laird Street. Upon arrival at the scene, detectives and officers came in contact with several suspects outside the residence in the back yard. The suspects identified were Fredrick Demetria “D” Hall, age 48, of 709 Laird Street, Picayune. Brandon Carl Anthony Holloway, age 26, of 1516 Grady Avenue, Picayune; Brandin Daniel Hilton, age 34, of18 Braxton Lee Road, Poplarville; and Michael Charles Stewart, age 55, of 1311 Sally Drive, Picayune.

Hall, Holloway, Hilton, and Stewart were detained outside, while an additional suspect, identified as Nakia Lashun Patton, age 41, of 709 Laird Street, Picayune, was detained in the master bedroom of the residence.

Upon conducting a search of the suspects, officers and detectives found several hand rolled cigars containing a green leafy substance believed to be synthetic marijuana and one black plastic bag which displayed “The Godfather” that contained a green leafy substance believed to be synthetic marijuana on Holloway’s person. Holloway was placed under arrest for Possession of Synthetic Marijuana.

According to Magri, narcotic detectives then conducted a search of the residence and located pieces of aluminum foil which contained a white powdery substance believed to be Heroin and a gel capsule containing a white powdery substance believed to be Heroin concealed above the smoke alarm in the master bedroom. Upon a further search of the residence, narcotic detectives located a black digital scale containing a white powdery substance believed to be Heroin, multiple clear plastic bags containing a white powdery residue believed to be heroin, $800.00 of miscellaneous bills of U.S. currency concealed underneath the counter top of the island in the kitchen. An additional silver and black digital scale, containing a white powdery residue believed to be Heroin, was located in the shed on a work table along with multiple gallon size zip lock bags. Narcotic detectives also found three (3) glass pipes containing a burnt crystal residue believed to be Crystal Methamphetamine along with a used syringe underneath the work table .

Hilton and Stewart were placed under arrest for Possession of Paraphernalia and were transported to the Criminal Justice Center (CJC) with Holloway.

A patrol officer found the following under the bed in the master bedroom: one (1) blue pill which displayed a blue dolphin believed to be a single stack of Ectasy (Schedule I narcotic), two (2) yellow pills believed to be Oxycodone (Schedule II narcotic), one (1) white pill believed to be Hyrdocodone (Schedule II narcotic), one (1) clear plastic bag containing a green leafy substance believed to marijuana, and two (2) orange pills believed to be Alprazolam (Schedule IV narcotic).

Patton was found to have $842.00 of miscellaneous bills of U.S. currency on her person and $1,900.00 of miscellaneous bills of U.S. currency was found on Hall. The currency on both Hall and Patton was seized due to being within close proximity of illegal narcotics.

Through further investigation, it was learned that Hall and Patton were conspiring to distribute a controlled substance and were placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute within 1,500 feet of a Church, Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance within 1,500 feet of a Church, five counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance (misdemeanor), and Possession of Paraphernalia. Hall and Patton were transported to the CJC where they were booked and incarcerated.

According to Magri, the total amount of currency seized during the operation was $3,542.00.
