Blue Devils, Maroon Tide both fall in region games
Thursday night was not the best of nights for Pearl River Central and Picayune as they both lost their region games.

Hattiesburg sent 10 batters to the plate in the sixth inning and scored seven runs to pull away and defeat Pearl River Central 12-5 on Thursday at Smokie Harrington Park in Hattiesburg. The loss, the first of the season for the Blue Devils, moves their record to 10-1 and 1-1 in region play. Hattiesburg is now 9-3 and 2-1.
Picayune trailed North Pike 2-1 early, but the Jaguars scored two runs in the fourth and fifth innings, and three in the seventh to pull away. Picayune (6-5, 0-2) will host Hattiesburg on Tuesday and North Pike (7-4, 2-1) will be at home on Tuesday against Pearl River Central.
