Pearl River County School Board amends calendar to approve pay for 'snow' days.

The Pearl River County School Board held a special meeting on Thursday afternoon to approve an amended 2017-2018 school calendar.

The action was necessary to approve administrative leave pay for all full time personal for December 8, 2017, January 17, 2018, and January 18, 2018, due to inclement weather caused by very unusual snow in south Mississippi that forced the school system to cancel classes on those three days.

Superintendent Alan Lumpkin explained, “This allows us to pay our staff for those days and we will not have to make up those three days.”
