Picayune and Pearl River Central boys win; both girls' teams lose

Pearl River Central’s boys beat Hattiesburg 59 -55 on Friday night in Carriere handing Hattiesburg its first Region loss. A.J. Banks led the Blue Devils with 24 points and 8 rebounds. Jason Long had 19 points and Willie Reece added 14 points for PRC. Hattiesburg won the girls game 50-41.

Pearl River Central plays at Lamar Christian on Monday.

Picayune beat North Pike 58-34 in boys action. Marvun Arnold had 28 points and Jordan Griffith added 13 points for the Maroon Tide.

In girls action, North Pike beat Picayune 43-22.

Picayune is at home on Tuesday against George County.

Pearl River Central )and Picayune will play on Friday in Picayune in very important Region games, especially the boys game with Pearl River Central (13-5), Picayune(15-6), and Hattiesburg (14-6) all now with Region records at 2-1.
