Poplarville hosts Purvis with title in sight

The Poplarville Hornets host the Purvis Tornadoes at the Hornet's Nest on Friday in a game that would wrap up the top seed from Region 7-4A for Poplarville, should they beat Purvis.
The Hornets (8-0, 3-0) continue to strike quick on offense while the Poplarville defense has been extra stingy as of late posting back to back shutouts over FCAHS (won 31-0) and Sumrall (won 46-0).
Austin Bolton (5-8,170,Sr.) continues to be the buzz offensively having accumulated 1,540 yards and 20 TDs on 122 carries. As mentioned, the Hornet defense seems to playing in post-season form already, and will most likely put a clamp on the Tornadoes unless Purvis can find weaknesses that no one has yet to uncover.
Purvis (4-4, 3-1) is led on offense by quarterback Ty Howell (5-9, 172, Sr.) who has thrown for 781 yards and 6 TDs and ran for 8 TDs & 661 yards. John Bolton (6-0,188,Sr.) leads the Tornadoes with 958 yards and 10 TDs. Howell favorite target is three sport letterman C.J. Bolar (6-2, 185, Sr) ) who has numerous D1 offers and lists Louisville as his top choice, has 33 catches for 490 yards and 7 TDs. Poplarville's D.J. Travis (6-1, 165, Sr.) has been the stopper against opponents top receiver this season and has won all those battles. This matchup, if Howell has time to throw, would be the most interesting one of the game.
