After the picking their first win of the season last week with a 34-27 win at West Harrison, Pearl River Central (1-7, 1-3) host Gautier (2-6, 1-3) at Kenneth L. Hendrix Stadium.
PRC has consistently ran the ball well the past few games, and with the improving passing game of freshman Cameron Brunson (5-10, 165, Fr.), the Blue Devils have become a little more balanced offensively. All purpose back Tristian Anderson (5-11,185,Sr.) and sophomores Kalvin Briggs (5-9,180) and Clay Spiers (N/A) have allowed the Blue Devils to control the ball more on offense and allow their defense to be fresher as games progress.
Gautier's offense centers around running back Micah Kelly (5-11, 190, Jr.) with 501 yards / 4 TDs and dual threat quarterback Kameron Kincaid (6-0,190,Jr.) who has 369 yards passing and 117 yards rushing.
The key for the Blue Devils could be playing "keep away" with the football and putting some points up early. While the PRC defense is on the field, they have to be to make tackles in space against Kelly and Kincaid.
The game can be heard on wrjwradio.com, WRJW smart app, and FM 91.1 inside the stadium. The PRC broadcast crew is Eli Ouder, Jim Eastridge, and Timmy Craft (Scooter Black will substitute this week). Coverage begins at 6:30pm with the Paw Paw's Campers and Cars Pregame Show.
